Swales

I believe that Swales would consider a first year college classroom as well as a graduate class a discourse community. I believe that A discourse community is a group of communicators with a common goal or interest that adopts certain preferred ways of participating in public discussion. Which a college class at both levels fit into. And the classroom idea hits the 6 guidelines for a discourse community to have as laid out by Swales.
