Social facts
Social facts are things people believe to be true and can then affect how a person views a situation. Religion is the first thing that comes to mind if you believe in a god you may look and a situation such a someone who has been ill getting better as an act from god. Where someone who doesn't believe in a god could see in as medicine doing it's job or just a coincidence. Another example could be if someone believes in aliens and see a flying object around area 51 they are likely to believe that it is a UFO. Where someone who doesn't believe in aliens might conclude that area 51 is where USA armed forces test their aircraft so it is most likely something that the armed forces are testing .

Religion is a great example of a social fact because the belief in religion has a huge influence on how people behave and see the world.
ReplyDeleteKeep in mind that social facts can also be very concrete, true things.
